Heals からのメッセージ　
～Somewhere out There～　
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
COVID19の急速な感染拡大に対して全世界は人類の尊厳をかけた戦いの真っただ
中にあり、医療従事者は、自分の生命をかけ、いつ終わるとも知れないこの戦いの
最前線に立ち続けています。

医療従事者は、毎朝病院に行くときに恐怖が頭の中をよぎります。自分が感染して
しまうのでないか。自分の同僚が感染してしまうのでないか。自分の家族は大丈夫
だろうか。患者さんは今日何人死んでしまうのか。明日が迎えられるのだろうか。
心配は尽きません。それでも患者さんを助けるために、決死の覚悟で仕事場に向か
うのです。疲れ果てて家に帰ってきても、その日がよかったと思う間もなく、眠り
に落ちてしまいます。

今回のウイルスとの戦いは、かならず勝利を得なければいけない戦争です。我々、
医療従事者は、この戦争に立ち向かうためにいままで訓練を受けてきました。しか
し、そんな医療従事者の心のケアを行う体制は残念ながらまだ十分とは言えません。
本当の戦争を考えてみてください。傷ついた兵隊を助けてきたのは、我々でした。
だからこそ兵隊は戦いを続けることができました。しかし、今回の戦いには、我々
をケアできるシステムは用意されていませんでした。

このたび、HEALSは拡大するCOVID19の恐怖に立ち向かう我々の仲間である全医
療従事者の精神的サポートを行うための窓口を開設することといたしました。人類
が初めて遭遇する未曽有の危機に立ち向かう医療従事者の助けとなることを祈りな
がら、活動を開始することを宣言します。
